protocolFee denomination: the protocolFee field on each row is in raw smallest units of protocolFeeMint (the row's separate mint field — typically the quote token for LONG/BORROW, the base token for SHORT). Divide by 10^decimals of protocolFeeMint for a human amount.

Fees are charged at BOTH OPEN (1% of position size) and CLOSE (1% of position value at close), so any single position normally produces two rows with non-zero protocolFee.
